Q1. What does mean by RTO?

Ans: RTO is the short form of Regional Transport Office is an organization of Indian Government which is responsible for all transport related operations. Every District In India has its own RTO. RTO maintains the database of drivers and vehicles for all states.

Q2. What are the Key functions of RTO?

Ans.: As it’s said already it maintains the database of drivers and vehicles across India. If anyone purchased a vehicle firstly he have to register in nearby RTO, then RTO assigns a unique number to that vehicle. Same when we apply for driving license we have to go through the tests set by the RTO.

Q5. How to get driving license from RTO?

Ans.: Firstly you have to fill up Form no. 4 and or you can apply online depending upon your state where all your basic details are required. You need to present on stated date for tests. Once test passed the the learning test you will be getting learning license now you have to apply for driving license after passing the driving test your driving license will be handed over to you.

Q6. Why number plates of vehicles having different colors?

Ans.: In India vehicle number plates are differentiated by their purpose of use, like if any vehicle is used for commercial purpose then it will have yellow number plate. Similarly if any vehicle is used for private use then it will have white number plate. Now all electric vehicles are having green number plate. If any vehicle is used for renting then it is having black number plate with yellow color numbers.

Q7. What does mean by MV Act?

Ans.: The Motor Vehicles Act, this act regulates all aspect of road transport vehicles. It is having provisions for traffic rules, taxations, fine for rules violations, controlling permits, vehicle insurance and vehicle registration. This act was passed in 1988 and came into force from 1 July 1989.
